This little dome is exactly the same as the other leading satellite dome systems and uses exactly the same components. However this dome also offers Auto Skew.

For the satellite boffins -  "Great Auto Skew!".  I can hear you saying to yourself. 

For the rest of us -

Auto Skew is a simple device but it can make the difference between being able to watch television or not.

So how does it work?

Just imaging the signal from the satellite is transmitted as a cross (+) and at the end of your satellite dish is also a receiving antenna in the shape of a cross (+). To get the best signal quality you need to align the 2 crosses so that the satellite signal can be received.

The skew on a satellite dish is responsible for the picture quality NOT the signal streingth.

So when you move around Europe the curviture of the Earth means that the signal from the satellite is slightly off (X).

This means that you will still be able to lock onto the satellite because you can still receive the signal but the picture quality is poor because the (+) cross has moved slightly. The Auto Skew will move the satellite L.N.B left and right using a little motor until it gets the best picture quality.

Thats it.....

The advantage to having an Auto Skew is that if you are at the edge of the satellite footprint or if you are on a slope then the quality of signal will always be good.
