Satellite Dish Systems RSS

Its a great thing to have an automatic caravan satellite system on
your caravan but (always a but)the problem with a caravan is that most of the manufacturers don't make
the roof strong enough to support the weight of a big dish.
Caravan satelite systems come in two types, the dish and the
dome.
The dish satellite system is what most people think of when they think about a satellite
system. The dish systems start at around 50cm in size and go upto 100cm in size.
The general rule of thumb is that the further from the UK you go the bigger
the dish you will need to receive English television channels like BBC and ITV. This is because the Astra Satellite (the one for SKY and FREESAT), has the best coverage in the UKsee . The problem with this is that if you intend to use your caravan
outside of the UK, you will need a medium to large size dish. You may say "Well!".
You must remember that the bigger the dish the more weight you are putting
on your roof and not to forget the stress caused by the dish being blown about in the wind.
With the above information taken into account we will have a look at the
systems that should be ok. This is by no means a guarentee.
Ok we took a look around and this is when we found. We have rated the best
3.
We have not mentioned what satellites the dishes cover as they all seen to
cover the usual ones. Astra 2, Eurobird,
Astra 1, Hotbird, Atlantic Bird and Hispasat.
We have spoken to several caravan satellite system owners
about the units and it seems as if the Alden system is prefered when given the choice of the above 3.
Other satellite systems are avaliable and we have seen a lot. This is
our opinion only. We do not have any preference to any make of system.
